 Our HipFix system is a popular choice for hip and pelvis immobilization in the prone or supine position.
The system utilizes a single sheet of solid/perforated thermoplastic over the entire abdomen/pelvis. Two rigid handles offer control of the thermoplastic, which is softened in warm water and becomes easily moldable to the patient’s contours. The handles and groin piece lock easily to the pelvic board, and the thermoplastic hardens to form a rigid custom mold – offering accurate repositioning from simulation through the course of treatment.
The pelvic board features a cutout treatment window. The board can be placed directly on the couch, or on a belly board if small bowel displacement is desired in the prone position. For added comfort and support, a Vac-Lok™ prostate cushion with a treatment window can be used on the pelvic board.
