We compared the shrinkage of MED-TEC’s ComfortPerf™ Uni-frame® mask against Nuclear Associates’ uon™ mask. Objective: To test and compare the shrinkage of MED-TEC’s ComfortPerf™ Uni-frame® mask against Nuclear Associates’ UON™ mask. Equipment: • Wooden dummy head • MT-20100 acrylic baseplate mounted to a test platform • Digital weight scale • Water bath and digital thermometer • (2) ComfortPerf thermoplastic masks • (2) UON thermoplastic masks Test Setup:

Notes: The plotted values are the average of the masks in each group. Shrinkage (lbs) is calculated by subtracting the 10-minute force reading from the force reading at the time interval. All thermoplastics tested were of equal thickness (2.4mm). Conclusion: Test results show that the MED-TEC ComfortPerf exhibits less shrinkage than UON at each post-setup interval. |
